He joined the department in February 2024 so just about a year ago.
Francisco and his wife, Dulce Maria, are generally kept pretty busy raising their children. Kassandra Gonzalez is part of the Hayesville Middle School marching band and is in the picture with her father. Kassandra has two sisters, Katherine and Sophia, as well as a brother, Jacob. Their various activities and hobbies definitely keep their parents hopping.
Francisco had a strong desire to get involved in ‘something’ to help his community but didn’t know what might be … that is until he met Kevin Miller, Chaplain for CCFR. They formed a fast and solid friendship. It was Kevin who first told Francisco that the fire department was looking for volunteers and shared with him how he became involved with CCFR. This became the opportunity that he was looking for.
Francisco stated, “God has put in my heart to help my community in some way!” He became a member and is diligently learning all the areas in which he can help. It is widely expressed throughout the department that “If you are willing to volunteer your time and talents to the Fire Department, we will find where you will fit in best. In the Fire Service, there is a job for everyone!”
When Francisco was asked about what he has found most rewarding since joining, he said, “My most rewarding moment so far was last month when me and my family got a chance to know the rest of the members and their families at the CCFR Christmas Dinner. It was a special celebration where I felt the brotherhood and love for each other. It’s like a family here, and it is an honor to be part of this amazing family!”
When asked what interests/hobbies he enjoys outside of work and CCFR, he stated, “I enjoy spending time with my family. I also like to travel around this area and attending church. I also enjoy listening to my daughter, Kassandra, practice and play the saxophone.
Francisco, you are a wonderful addition to our ‘family’ and are so glad you are here! You will do amazing things for your community which will fill you and your family with a profound sense of pride! Stay safe, my friend. |
